"Every minute on the minute" WODs are generally programmed to allow athletes to both practice a particular movement as well as benefit from some intensity. In order to improve the momement, though, we typically are not using a maximum load for such a workout; instead we create intensity with the accumulation of repetitions over time. Therefore, the EMOM can be deceiving during the initial part of the WOD. That is, the weight may come up fairly easily during the early minutes. But as we accumulate reps and we fatigue, our effort must increase. The focus is on being consistent with our movements.
