Getting Lost
We’ve all endured the agony of getting lost. You’re driving around aimlessly, no idea where you are and contemplating entrustingyour fate to a stranger’s directions.
Amazingly we always find our way. The journey may be longer or more difficult than expected, but we always find our way.
The quest for a high fitness level comprises smaller trips, WODs (workouts of the day).
Finding our way through a WOD can be very challenging. As fatigue sets in, you might
start to move with less effort, maybe short the movements, or worse, try to do a completely different move. Basically you will do anything to find your way through it and hopefully not get caught.
“Full Extension. Deeper. That Doesn’t Count.” Damn, busted.
CrossFit WODs are challenging and get worse as form and technique start to degrade. If you find yourself getting lost, remember the basics and get back on track as quickly as possible.
Tell yourself:
- I am strong, I can do this
- Stay tight, back straight
- Use your legs, open your hips, push through your heels
- All the way down, all the way up
- Explode
- Keep going
