CrossFitters, what is your profession?

Corny, but the “300” reference reminds me we are CrossFitters and when we say, “I CrossFit” that should mean something. I can cook a meal, but I do not consider myself a chef. If I did, chefs would be pissed.

Preserving what makes CrossFit awesome doesn’t mean being a fire-breather. It does mean establishing high standards and holding ourselves accountable in meeting those standards.  There are no acceptable excuses for justifying giving less than 100% of what you have. You did that movement yesterday? So what. It’s hot? So what. At least I’m not sitting on the couch? So what.

My father and tennis coach once told me, “It doesn’t matter how well you play when you are playing well, it’s how well you play when you are playing poorly.” Give 100% regardless of whether you are at the top of your game at that moment.

When someone says, “I CrossFit” it should be clear: that person is not afraid of challenges, holds themselves to a high standard, and will never quit.
