Plyo: What’s Going On Right Now?

You may have noticed a slight change in the landscape of the gym… Stick N Move Boxing has moved to another location on Market Street. With our 530 session running 3 different classes, the space had gotten a little cramped! Look forward to the new open space being used for kids’ classes, strongman work, and our self-defense class.

Remember we have strongman classes on Monday nights at 730, and self-defense classes Wednesday nights at 730. Both have proven to be fun, educational, and provide us with additional variety to our fitness “routine.”

This Saturday at 830am is the last session of the Bar Belles Women’s Lifting class. If you’re interested in seeing what the women’s lift is all about, you’re welcome to drop in and see (and participate!). Another 8-week cycle will begin at the end of August, and we’ll adjust the day/time to accommodate additional participants.

Endurance: What’s Coming Up?

CrossFit York’s In-house Strongman Competition! Interested in seeing what a strongman competition is all about? Then sign up for our In-House competition. This event will replicate a traditional strongman competition, with the proceeds going toward the purchase of additional strongman equipment to make you even stronger! DETAILS: Saturday, August 16, from 11am-3pm. $20 entry fee. All participants will compete in four events, with prizes awarded to the top male and female competitors. For more information, contact Tony (tony@crossfityork.com). Registration forms will be available at the box.

The White Rose Barbell Open registration will close on August 31. Lifting during a meet is an awesome experience… just ask any one of our athletes who have participated in one. If you are not ready to compete but you would like to volunteer, please save the dates (September 20-21) and look for a volunteer sign-up sheet at the box in the coming weeks.

Allison and Chris Gibson welcomed Mackenzie Rose on July 13th. She was born a scant SEVERAL HOURS after Allison had come in for a morning workout that very day. While the official birth story has not yet been told, it appears as though Mackenzie’s  precipitous birth was a result of her mother’s amazing strength.

Amanda Brady, Michael Rehmert, Bailey Druck and Dana Mangano competed in the scaled division of the Backyard Barbell Brawl in Harford County, MD. They brought home gold! Way to go, team!Screen Shot 2014-07-20 at 5.54.22 PM

Congrats to Lindsay Kinard, who competed in the USAW National Championships on Friday in Salt Lake City, Utah! And even though we all couldn’t go sit in the audience to watch her, we supported her from afar, with everyone pausing during their own Friday night lifts and workouts to watch her.

Plyo: What’s going on right now?

This week Lindsay and Rusty are traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the USAW Nationals. Let Lindsay know CFY and the WRBB club is rooting for her! If you’re interested in watching live footage, Lindsay is lifting on Friday afternoon, and there should be a live streaming link via the USAW website. Once we know the time her flight lifts and the URL for the stream, we’ll post it on the CFY FB page.

CrossFit York is pleased announce several new partnerships!
We are now an official Hylete dealer. If you follow the link from our website (or this one), and enter the code CFYORK25, you’ll receive 25% off your order. There will be other opportunities for additional savings and for custom CFY apparel in the future. We’ll keep you posted!

Our exclusive discounted price list will be available shortly, but in the meantime you can browse the Progenex website to compile your shopping list.

Finally, we’ll be making FitAid, a performance recovery drink, available to our athletes for purchase at the box. Watch for the FitAid cooler to arrive any day!
